Thoughts Post on; The Matrix. The Usual Suspects. The Shawshank Redemption.

May Contain Spoilers to the Movies~

The Matrix

This film I found okay. The hype around it is so huge, I don't know, I think I was probably expecting something a little more exciting tahn what it was for me. But all in all, I enjoyed watching it. The plot is really great and the timing of everything is fabulous. Plus, a lot of it was really pretty to look at. I was really intrigued by Morpheus's character. He was probably the highlight for me. :3
The effects were great but I was a little disappointed by the lack of properly intense action. Or maybe I was just over-expectant.
Overall, I thought it was good, but I thought a lot more could have gone on in the film, leading to a more satisfying ending. :) I'm not sure whether to check out the sequels or not, though. Any thoughts on that, even though I know they aren't on the list, haha.

The Usual Suspects

I have to admit I have mixed feelings about this one. I personally found the plot to be a little all-over-the-place. I know that was actually an intention, having flashbacks and such crafted in the form of an interview. But, in my opinion, it didn't really work for me and I'd rather it be told chronologically because I found myself getting a little confused at times. I can tell why this film would appeal to people. It definitely has a good plot and is well-written but it just wasn't really my cup of tea. Although I have to admit, the twist in the end really got me.

The Shawshank Redemption

This was definitely my favourite out of the three. *A*♥
The acting was absolutely amazing and the pace and storytelling in the movie was perfect. I haven't read the short story it was derived from, but I thought the casting was great for the characters they represented.
The story just gripped me from the start and the timeline it followed meant you really got to grow with both the charcaters and story. This meant the said redemption scene was all the more moving and beautiful.
The speeches throughout the film spoken by Morgan Freeman were a highlight for me because not only did he act them so well, but the way they were written was lovely.
This is definitely the one I would recommend out of these films and I think I'm now well aware why it's second on the list. :D
